recurring themes

Teeth!
- A few weeks ago I took my roommate, Christy, to the emergency dentist's office when one of her front top teeth came out! (I learned on the way to the clinic that it is a fake, so my panic was lessened slightly.)
- My roommate, Charles (Christy's husband), broke one of his molars recently, and then cut his finger on the sharp edge.
- On memorial day one of my mom's (very large) silver fillings came out.
- While riding in my car last week, one of my clients chipped a tooth for no apparent reason.
- Friend Nick had one of his 12-year molars pulled last week after it became so painfully infected that he couldn't open his mouth (eeeeyikes!).
- Friend Kate finally had her wisdom teeth pulled!

Organ Meat!
In the past few days I've had several conversations with roommates and friends about eating organ meat (liver, kidneys, sweetbreads etc.). The consensus seems to be that chicken hearts are awesome and anything can/should be eaten if it's prepared the right way.

Money!
This shouldn't be much of a surprise, though. The major theme last night and this morning was the same. I have two jobs with irregular hours and meager pay. Jughead, on the other hand, has two jobs with consistent overtime and outrageously good pay. He says it's perfectly alright to feel comfortable with the fact that he helps me participate in leisure activities that cost money. I want to agree, but am too busy feeling nauseous about the thought that I can't take care of myself.
*sigh*

mmmm...meat. i love sweatbreads and liver. i have only eaten heart once but need to try it again because i don't remember what it tasted like. i also don't remember what kidneys taste like. i'll basically eat anything meat-related. have i ever told you about Meat Day? mikel really likes the idea and i made it up and will tell you about it someday.

as far as money/lovers go - i have been on both sides of the breadwinning-coin and it is my opinion that it all comes out in the wash. everyone should be happy to just enjoy the love they're sharing if they are spending dollars or getting dollars spent on them. (though i admit to being occasionally squeamish about it still. i get over it.)
