I just found $40 cash while I was looking for some old photos. It was in an envelope from my grandma, and on the outside is written, "Am cleaning someones house from time to time-- use wisely--" Very mixed feelings about that.
Feeling kind of low today, which is a continuation of last night. This is completely incongruous with the gorgeous Memorial Day weather, and that makes it even worse.
I think I need to find a therapist. I've been saying that for over a year, but I mean it now.
I planted 13 different pepper plants yesterday, 16 tomato plants, and strung up my peas (which have little pods now!). Cut-worms already ate one of the bell peppers, and since they wiped out my entire first batch of tomatoes, I sprayed the ground with insecticide. Don't feel great about it...
I have a job interview of sorts tomorrow. It's a little hazy, because I don't know exactly what the position is, what duties are entailed, how much it pays, etc. It's for a pretty high-profile organization though, so I'm intrigued. (More about that later...)
I should probably make a list of pros and cons so that I can feel better. Or maybe go for a jog...

Heuss,
The way to keep cutworms off of tomato plants is to wrap the stem for ~1-2" above and below the soil line with newspaper, enough to go around a few times. Cutworms only operate in that elevation range. Tomatoes are okay with having extra stem buried - my mom usually puts them bareroot in the shape of an "L" underground, for better root development, and that makes it easier to cover the "cutworm zone" in newspaper as well.
