my weekend with Aja

I am SO SO SOOOO glad that Aja came to visit! At first, I was a little worried that after a long summer of working in NY, she would be too worn out or stressed to be away from home much longer. Instead, we had four lovely days of shopping, eating, drinking, chatting, walking and just generally spending time together.

Friday:
Mini-tour of the U of M campus, then had Yueng-Ling beer and home-made pizza to heal our sore joints. Played Scrabble with Jughead.

Saturday:
Lunch at The Local, then the Walker sculpture garden, Sebastien Joe's ice cream and vintage shopping. Aja did some shopping on her own while Jughead and I were at a wedding reception.


Sunday:
Thrift stores in NE, then lunch (raw oysters, calamari tacos and crayfish po' boy) at Sea Salt in Minnehaha Park. Washed my car because of some major bird-vandalizing. Had coffee and "Princess Cake" and did more shopping at IKEA! Bought pickled herring, lumpfish roe, prawn spread, smoked salmon pate, crackers and cookies at IKEA, bringing our seafood total for the day up to SEVEN! Had beers and played cards with Jughead and Mikel.


Monday:
Woke up around 8:00 and went to Saver's for the 50% off sale. Ate a late breakfast, then freshened up and took Aja's car to get an oil change. After a big music exchange, she headed back to Wisconsin around 4:00.
